Keine Neuen is a guild comprised mostly of college students and working adults. We all have real life commitments that we have to take care of outside of the game, so we work with rotations for all raiders to ensure that:
In general we split a 25m raid into 4 groups: 3 tanks, 6 healers, 7 melee DPS, and 9 range DPS. There is a separate rotation for each group every week, posted in the Role Forums. As far as our raiding core is concerned, we try to have on average 4 tanks, 8-9 healers, and 9-11 of each melee and range DPS, to ensure that people can take care of their RL commitments, and that the raid is still covered. We utilize a raid sign up system called RaidNinja. This system lets all raiders declare their availability for the coming weeks. For example, let's say that it's Saturday and you're filling out RaidNinja: you are available and sign up for Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This way when actual rotation is being made on Sunday, we don't assign you to raid on Tuesday. If you end up showing up anyway on Tuesday, there's always a chance you will raid if someone else had a RL issue come up. If you show up but don't get a raid spot, and stay online for the duration of the raid, you earn sitout DKP, which is equal to 50% of DKP earned by those in raid. Due to the planning involved, it is imperative that raiders fill out RaidNinja by the end of Saturday for the upcoming week. Changes in availability after that point should be posted to the lateness thread. Any newly accepted raider goes through a month long trial period. During that time, on average you will be scheduled for 2-3 raids per week. After the trial period ends, on average you will be scheduled for 3-4 raids per week. Showing up on your unscheduled nights will always give you an option to pick up an extra night, if someone on rotation didn't make it. We've found this system to be fair and effective. Please ask an officer if you have any questions. |
